Metalwax - Aluminum Check to see if you need the cleaner first. Do you have stains and old polishing compounds that you can see? Is the metal badly corroded? Is the shine in very poor condition? If the answer is yes to any of these questions, you need to clean the metal first. If the answer is no and the shine is in good condition you can probably use just the metalwax and skip the cleaner for a faster shine re fresh.
Use the green fluoride metal cleaner first, using a wet piece of carpet that you wet with water, apply a small squirt of cleaner to carpet then apply to metal surface .(The purpose of the cleaner is to remove all old polishing compounds, stuck on corrosive soaps and the oxidized surface metal ) or pour cleaner into a spray bottle and spray cleaner on surface. Dry by wiping off cleaner. When clean, surface will have a clean white look on aluminum only. For brass, stainless steel, silver, gold, and other metals you won't see much change. Some stains will remain visible, this is normal and will disappear when metalwax is applied.
Next dry the water off the surface with a towel to remove all the excess water (this is so your wax applicator won't get wet). With your wax applicator cover surface with wax, use enough wax so your applicator has good slide across the metal, you will see the shine develop on the metal. Buff off metal with a clean terry towel while the wax is still wet. Or use this method which is to wash off the polish with dish soap a sponge and water. If cleaned outside use a garden hose & spray nozzle. On small metal pieces use the sink and wash away polish. Dry the metal and it is ready to use. You can use this method with all metals.
On truck fuel tanks> Clean and polish sections at a time. Example: start at the end pancake of the tank, clean and polish that piece first, then move to the side, start at the weld seam where the cap is welded on move out about 2 feet, clean and polish that section. Clean and polish section at a time until job is complete, always use two coats of wax. More if you want more shine, the depth of the mirror will increase each time you add a another coat of wax. This is true for any piece you polish. Use Quick spray shine for a fast easy re fresh after a truck wash. Polish can be washed off instead of buffing if desired.
Wheels> Clean the entire wheel first following the steps above. The cleaner the metal the better the shine, the longer it will last. After cleaning, dry off excess water and cleaner. Apply wax to the entire wheel when black residue appears and you see shine develop wash off polish. Dry wheel. That's it. Your done. At this point you can apply more coats of wax to the wheel to improve the depth of the shine. For every coat you apply you will get another 35 to 50 percent increase in the depth of the shine to 500 percent shine. This is true for any metal you polish. The reason is, the more wax you apply the more the wax fills in the pores of the metal to smooth it out. Use Quick spray shine for a fast re fresh after a wash for a fast easy re fresh.
Diamond Plate> On large pieces of plate clean and polish sections at a time. Always start at the top and work down, this is so you can clean up the streaks and runs left by the cleaner. With flat plate work in 3 foot sections across the plate. On pickup bed tool boxes you can remove the plastic coat applied at the factory( they do this so the box looks new when you buy it, other wise it would already be dull) by cleaning it first, dry it , then take 0000 grade steel wool apply the wax to the steel wool and polish the surface, this removes the plastic coat with out scratching it. You only have to do this one time , after you remove the coating you will have a better looking tool box, and the wax protects it from the weather. Diamond plate takes more work than smooth metal. Polish crisscross both ways with the run of the diamonds. Buff the wax off right away or wash off the wax with dish soap and sponge, rinse and dry to perfect shine. Short shag carpet works well as a wax applicator on diamond plate. Turn your buff towel frequently if buffing off residue for best shine performance. After your diamond plate is polished use Quick spray shine for easy re fresh.
Large Fenders> On these type surfaces, like fenders on a semi tractor that cover a set of dual wheels start in the middle on the top of the fender and work down toward the ends front and back. Work on half the fender at a time. Clean from the top down then polish sections at a time starting on the top working down. Then polish the other side of the fender working top to end of fender. Once you have cleaned and applied one coat of wax to the entire fender you can now add additional coats to bring out the shine. As you apply additional coats of wax, buff off while the wax is still wet.On rough aluminum fenders that have never been polished use 0000 steel wool as an applicator. Apply wax on steel wool and polish till shine appears, buff off while wax is wet with clean terry towel or wash off using method described above. re - apply another coat of wax buff off. repeat this until shine and metal are smooth and the metal mirror finish is clear reflection.
Sun Visors on big trucks- work on half the visor at a time. Clean and polish each section, not the entire visor at once.
Hot Metal- try to avoid polishing hot metal. Rule of thumb is if it is hot to the touch it is to hot to polish. Avoid polishing in the hot direct sun. The reason for this, is that hot metal dries the cleaner and polish to fast and cause it to stick to the metal, which makes it hard to remove. You don't have enough working time with the product under hot conditions
Stainless Steel- Stainless acts different than aluminum when polishing. Because it is a hard surface (nickel and steel) when you apply the cleaner it will act like it is doing nothing and you won't see any difference in the surface, but it is working. After cleaning wipe off excess cleaner and water then apply the wax. Wipe the surface really good with the wax, your applicator will turn a gray color this is normal. Buff off the wax with a clean terry towel Or soap, now you will see a big difference in the before and after appearance. If you have bad rust stains, hard water, mineral, or other stains work more with the cleaner, that is, give the cleaner more time to work. then apply the wax.
Aluminum window and door frames- Removes mold. Use the cleaner full strength. On frames with heavy build up use 0000 steel wool. Apply cleaner to wool and wipe down frames. You may want to let the cleaner sit on the metal as long as an hour. Re - wet the metal with the cleaner . Cleaner can also be rinsed with water , towel dried then apply the metalwax. Polish frames with 0000 grade steel wool. use liberal amounts with this method to provide the steel wool lots of slide Buff off with towel or soap off with a few drops of dish soap and a wet sponge and rinse off black with water hose Then dry metal for a fast and very bright shine. Protect ant stays on the metal.
Anodized Metals - are metals with a coating on them to prevent corrosion. What happens is the metal gets stains in the metal anyway. Skip the cleaning on anodized wheels. apply the wax only do not let dry.Your applicator will turn a light gray color from cleaning the metal. You will see a cleaner metal with a shine. Our products will not remove the anodizing it will clean it, remove the stains and put a wax gloss on it.. it really improves the appearance of these metals.
Gold Brass & Silver Metals- On silver we recommend using the metal cleaner first if stains and dark brown spots are visible. You will notice a slight change in the color . this is normal. Wipe off excess cleaner and water and apply the wax, polish the silver and wash off using dish soap sponge and water. Rinse well, dry with clean towel and your fine metal is ready to use. On gold if the corrosion isn't to bad you can use the wax only. Apply the wax with a soft terry applicator, buff off repeat for more shine. Wash gold as a final step and dry. The new quick spray shine works extremely well on all brass and silver and can be used with the cleaner just. This boosts power to a primary polish on most metals.. The Quick spray shine is very good to use where you have fine engraving. Product can be soaped off for clean engraving lines.
Glass with mineral deposits- On glass that has mineral deposits from hard water such as shower doors and patio doors that your sprinkler sprays water on and leaves a deposit that won't come off with any other product use the metal wax only. Use 0000 grade steel wool , apply the wax to the steel wool clean the glass, wipe off excess then wash off. this process instantly cleans the worst mineral and hard water stains fast. It wont scratch the glass either. The wax gives the steel wool enough slide so it moves easily across the glass. Metal Wax is the only product that you can clean glass with these type of hard water stains.
Plastics - use the metal wax only, no cleaner. use a soft terry towel for an applicator, use enough wax so you have good slide on the surface. Metal wax will instantly pull the fog out of clear plastic headlight covers, emergency lights, flashlight lens and colored plastics. BUff off excess wax with clean terry towel, repeat for more clarity
Drum cymbals & musical instruments- use the cleaner first, follow cleaner directions from above, clean the surface make sure it's clean, wipe off excess water and cleaner, apply the wax, use a soft terry applicator. Polish the cymbal, Soap off residue or use a terry towel for buff off. clean the surface once then add coats of wax for more shine. The more coats of wax you apply the deeper the shine becomes. Old cymbals that are corroded lose their sound, you can really improve the sound with cleaning and polishing with Metal wax. After cymbals are polished use quick spray shine for a fast up keep
Chrome- use the cleaner first on chrome, you won't notice any change in the surface, the cleaner is working. Next dry off the water and excess cleaner. Apply the wax then buff it off.Now you will notice a big change. If you apply another coat of wax you will get even more brilliance. It is very worthwhile treating chrome with this system.Use Quick spray shine on chrome also
Aluminum Trailers use just the cleaner if you want to clean and brighten the aluminum. Apply cleaner with a brush. after cleaning hose off with water. On large all aluminum trailers use a large brush like a car wash brush, wet trailer with water, start cleaning on bottom and work up to top of trailer.clean trailer in sections at a time each about 6 foot.Put cleaner in 5 gallon plastic bucket, dip brush in bucket brush trailer. All the mold and corrosion will immediately start to disappear and metal will turn a clean white look. For a picture of what your aluminum trailer will look like after it is cleaned click here.
Remove Rust- apply cleaner to rusted area . keep rust covered with cleaner, rust will start to dissolve, work area with carpet or steel wool until rust is gone. Then apply wax to seal it.
METAL CLEANER APPLICATIONS
Remove mold & mildew From metal & painted trailers and other large surfaces with our exclusive metal cleaner. On large trailers start at the top using a car wash type brush with long handle, pour cleaner in open top 5 gallon pail. Wet surface with water then dip brush head in cleaner, brush surface start on roof work front to back of roof, surface will clean instantly rinse with water as you clean. After roof is clean, start cleaning the sides working top to bottom back to front. Rinse with water hose as you clean. It is safe to use the cleaner on painted surfaces, it will brighten dull and dirty paint.Rinse with water after cleaning.and let air dry
On painted surfaces we recommend using out Top Wax product to seal the surface after cleaning
Our exclusive fluoride metal cleaner can be used on any metal surface to remove stains, dirt, mold .rust, corrosion, scale. Will not harm paint, rubber, plastics, . it will frost glass or cause streaking so rinse off glass immediately. for heavy duty cleaning use full strength apply with brush on surface that has been pre wetted with water, brush surface until desired look is obtained and all stains are gone. If necessary let cleaner stand on surface a few minutes repeat brushing then rinse with water. While cleaning keep metal wet to avoid runs and steaks. When finished let metal air dry completely. when dry metal is ready to put back in service. If you are going to clean the metal then polish use this method.
on aluminum wheels clean entire wheel first, then polish with metal wax. On fuel tanks , like truck fuel tanks clean sections at a time then polish each section.. On very large things, like all metal trailers, boats, metal buildings, use large brush with handle, pour cleaner in bucket dip brush start at top and work down, clean in sections at a time, rinsing each section with water before you go to the next section until job is complete.
Do not clean hot metal. do not use in hot sun. Wear gloves when using this product, protect your eyes, keep away from children.Use this product in a professional manner it's very powerful. Do not use the cleaner on lead base metals. It will cause lead base metals to turn black. If your not sure about the metal, do a small test spot first.
It is important to note, when working on trucks, cars, boats and other large jobs, make sure you have something to sit on. get comfortable. when working on high off the ground jobs, have a ladder don't work in the hot sun. on large jobs always have a start point and a finish point, stick to your work plan, don't jump around. Example: on a big truck if you start on the wheels then polish all the wheels first, then go to the fuel tanks, then the boxes, then the trim, then the paint and so on. This way you will get everything done and the job seems to go faster.Bring everything you need to the job so you don't have to go get more tools. DON'T GET IN A HURRY! PACE YOURSELF. If weather conditions are extreme wait or move the job in doors.
TOP WAX APPLICATIONS
AUTO PAINT- AIRCRAFT-RV'S-MARINE-apply thin coat of top wax to your paint using a pre water damp terry applicator or pour Top Wax into a trigger type spray bottle and spray on surface then spread out with damp terry applicator. You get more wax on the surface with this method (less waste)
.Do not use on hot surfaces. This causes the wax to dry to fast and stick. do not wax your car a night. to much humidity in the air, as the wax is drying it draws the humidity through the wax and keeps the wax from drying. This is true for all waxes. The best time is in the day in the shade on a normal temperature surface, this will provide you the best results. Apply the wax in large ovals on the surface. (You can apply to the entire surface then come back and buff off. This is a heavy wax product so you will need a small brush to details seams after buff off) let dry then buff off with a clean terry towel. If your paint is in good shape you will be able to polish it in one coat. If it is real dirty and clouded you will need two coats to get a good clean smooth shine. This applies to trucks, boats, cars, aircraft, motor homes ,buses, motorcycles, fiberglass, gel coat surfaces.
Do not use this product on painted surfaces where the clear coat has worn off and the surface is ruff and your down to the pigment of the paint do not use to polish aluminum or stainless steel
To polish chrome or silver with top wax apply wax with damp applicator let dry to haze buff off. It's done
Glass display cases-apply with damp applicator in thin coats to the entire case. Let dry completely then buff off with clean terry towel. This will provide you with a smooth ultra clear glass surface.
You can use the spray type applicator on glass too.

HOW TO CLEAN ALUMINUM MANIFOLDS
FIRST CLEAN ALL OLD GREASE, DIRT AND OIL FROM THE SURFACE.
THIS PRODUCT IS NOT A DE GREASER
IF YOU ARE USING THE HP CLEANER YOU WILL NEED TO DILUTE THE PRODUCT USING THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES.
FOR THE 32 OZ SIZE OF HP CLEANER:
ALWAYS WEAR RUBBER GLOVES WHEN USING THIS PRODUCT. FACE SHIELD IS RECOMMENDED.
START WITH 1 QUART OF WATER TO 1 QUART OF CLEANER.( WET MANIFOLD WITH WATER BEFORE YOU APPLY CLEANER)
DIP A SMALL BRUSH INTO THE CLEANER AND BRUSH ON A SMALL SECTION OF THE MANIFOLD. IF THE ALUMINUM TURNS WHITE OR A BLACK SHADE APPEARS THE CLEANER IS TO STRONG FOR THE ALUMINUM. DILUTE WITH 1 MORE QUART OF WATER. TEST ANOTHER SMALL SPOT.
IT SHOULD LOOK CLEAN AND SILVER. IF NOT ADD 1 PINT OF WATER.( DO NOT USE CLEANER TO STRONG) THIS CLEANER WORKS BEST SLOWER THAN TOO HOT AND FASTER) WHEN DIALED IN EITHER USE A BRUSH OR SPRAY ON MANIFOLD THAT IS WET WITH WATER. AFTER CLEANER IS APPLIED BRUSH SURFACE WITH NYLON BRISTLE BRUSH. IF LIGHT FUEL OR ANTIFREEZE STAINS ARE PRESENT CLEANING SHOULD TAKE ABOUT FIVE MINUTES. HEAVY DEEP STAINS ABOUT 30 MINUTES.
RINSE COMPLETELY WITH WATER AND BRUSH SURFACE WITH NYLON BRUSH. LET AIR DRY (SET IN SUN IF POSSIBLE) DRY TIME IS ABOUT 3 HOURS ON A NICE SUNNY DAY LONGER ON COLD CLOUDY DAY. AT FIRST MANIFOLD WILL BE DARK BUT AS IT DRIES WILL LIGHTEN IN APPEARANCE TO A NICE SILVER LOOK.. IF MANIFOLD HAS ALUMINUM DUST ON THE SURFACE AFTER CLEANING AND THE MANIFOLD IS DRY REMOVE WITH A SOFT BRASS BRUSH. RINSE WITH WATER AGAIN AND DRY. MANIFOLD IS READY FOR ASSEMBLY.
5 GALLON DIP TANK METHOD
IF USING A LARGE PLASTIC TANK (10 GALLONS OR MORE) POUR 5 GALLON CONTAINERS INTO TANK AND ADD 5 GALLONS OF WATER. TEST MANIFOLD USING DIRECTIONS ABOVE BEFORE YOU DIP MANIFOLD INTO TANK. IF CONDITIONS ABOVE ARE MET THEN DIP MANIFOLD INTO TANK. AFTER 15 MINUTES REMOVE AND BRUSH SURFACE. RE DIP AND REMOVE IN 3 MINUTES. IF MANIFOLD LOOKS GOOD AND STAINS ARE GONE YOURE DONE. RINSE WITH WATER AND FOLLOW DIRECTIONS ABOVE. IF MANIFOLD STILL HAS STAINS RE DIP AND LEAVE FOR ABOUT 45 MINUTES. REMOVE REPEAT STEPS ABOVE. DO NOT EMPTY TANK AFTER CLEANING. CLEANER CAN BE USED OVER AND OVER WITHOUT LOSING POWER
MORE INFORMATION
THE DILUTION RECOMMENDATIONS ARE ONLY A GUIDELINE FOR USING THIS PRODUCT. YOU MAY USE MORE WATER THAN RECOMMENDED. IT DEPENDS ON YOUR CLEANING APPLICATION. SOME MANIFOLDS ARE ALLOYED WITH LEAD TO KEEP THE MANIFOLD FROM CRACKING UNDER STRESS. IF CLEANER TURNS THE ALUMINUM BLACK THE CLEANER IS REACTING WITH THE LEAD ALLOY. THE WORK AROUND FOR THIS ISSUE IS TO DILUTE THE CLEANER WITH WATER SO IT IS BELOW THE RE ACTIVE THRESHOLD. THIS MEANS YOU HAVE TO GIVE THE CLEANER MORE TIME TO WORK. SOMETIMES IT COULD BE DOUBLE THE TIME. THIS IS OK. DO NOT USE THE CLEANER TO STRONG OR YOU WILL ROUGH UP THE SURFACE AND OR INTAKE PORTS. IT IS MUCH BETTER TO WORK MORE DILUTED AND SLOWER TO GET THE RESULTS YOU WANT.
AFTER CLEANING YOU CAN USE THE METALWAX SPRAY ON POLISH FOR MORE SHINE. DO THIS
SPRAY CLEAN MANIFOLD WITH SPRAY SHINE (SMALL AMOUNT GOES A LONG WAY POLISH WITH A NYLON BRUSH. BLACK RESIDUE WILL BE ALL OVER THE SURFACE. . WASH MANIFOLD WITH DISH SOAP AND WATER TO REMOVE ALL BLACK RESIDUES AND LET DRY. DO NOT USE ANY SOAP OTHER THAN DISH SOAP. THESE INCLUDE ( JOY LIQUID OR DAWN OR ANY LIQUID DISH SOAP) IF YOU DO YOU WILL FLATTEN OUT HE SHINE AND THE MANIFOLD WILL LOOK SILVER BUT FLAT.
HOW TO CLEAN BOAT PONTOONS
FOR THIS PROJECT YOU WILL NEED:
A LONG HANDLE CAR WASH TYPE BRUSH
A 5 GALLON PLASTIC BUCKET
WATER HOSE WITH A SPRAY NOZZLE
SEVERAL OLD TERRY TOWELS
RUBBER GLOVES
IF YOU CLEAN THE BOAT ON CONCRETE WET THE CONCRETE WITH WATER FIRST THIS HELPS ELIMINATE SPOTTING CAUSED BY THE CLEANER EATING THE DIRT FROM THE PORES OF THE CONCRETE. YOU CAN ALSO COVER THE CONCRETE FIRST WITH A PLASTIC TARP. IT IS OK TO USE THIS CLEANER IN GRASS. IT WILL NOT KILL THE GRASS.
ON VERY DIRTY PONTOONS START WITH A FLUORIDE MIX RATIO OF 1 32 OZ HP CLEANER TO 2 GALLONS OF WATER.
TEST A SMALL SECTION BEFORE YOU START ON THE ENTIRE PONTOON. IF THE CLEANER APPEARS TO BE TO STRONG,SMOKES OR TURNS THE METAL WHITE ADD MORE WATER TO THE MIXED SOLUTION UP TO 3 GALLONS PER 32OZ OF HP CLEANER.
WET PONTOON WITH WATER FIRST THEN BRUSH ON CLEANER FROM THE BOTTOM TO THE TOP AND GO DOWN THE SIDE PONTOON.
ON LARGE PONTOONS OF MORE THAN 20 FEET CLEAN HALF OF THE PONTOON THEN RINSE WITH WATER THEN DRY OFF WITH AN OLD TERRY TOWEL.
FOLD THE TOWEL FLAT AND WALK IT DOWN THE SIDE. THIS REMOVES SURFACE OXIDATION THAT IS LOOSE ON THE SURFACE AND IS WHAT PRODUCES THE SEMI SHINE NEW ALUMINUM LOOK.
CLEAN THE NEXT SECTION THE SAME WAY. GO TO THE OTHER SIDE AND REPEAT THIS PROCESS. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO CLEAN FROM THE BOTTOM TO THE TOP OF THE PONTOON TO AVOID THE CLEANER TRYING TO CHANNEL OR STREAK AS IT REMOVES THE OLD CORROSION FROM THE DIRTY SURFACE.
AS THE ALUMINUM AIR DRIES IT WILL LOOK MORE SILVER IN APPEARANCE. DEPENDING ON THE HUMIDITY THIS CAN TAKE FROM 2 HOURS ON A HOT DRY DAY TO ALL DAY OR 2 DAYS IN THE COLD
IF YOU HAVE BAD STAINS OR HEAVY DEPOSITS THAT ARE HARD TO REMOVE LEAVE CLEANER ON SURFACE WITHOUT RINSING FOR AN HOUR OR MORE. CLEANER WILL APPEAR TO DRY. THIS IS OK. WHAT THE CLEANER IS DOING IS GOING INTO THE METAL TO DISSOLVE THE STAIN OR DEPOSIT. WHEN THIS PROCESS IS HAPPENING YOU WILL NOTICE THE STAIN HIGHLIGHT AROUND THE EDGE. RE WET WITH MORE CLEANER THEN RINSE WITH WATER AND TOWEL DRY.
NOTE: THE FLUORIDE CLEANERS WORK BETTER DILUTED AND FOR A LONGER TIME THAN STRONGER AND A SHORTER TIME ON THE SURFACE.
